Day three of NCAA Championships come to an end for BYU's Strauss and Prolo
MINNEAPOLIS — The penultimate day of the NCAA Swim and Dive Championships came to a close on Friday night, as BYU's Mickey Strauss and Brad Prolo represented the Cougars for the second day in a row in their respective events.
The morning prelim events saw Prolo compete in the 100-yard breaststroke against a field of 46 competitors. Prolo went on to swim a 52.85 with splits of 24.91 and 27.95 for the event, slightly finishing above his initial seed time of 52.67. In the final day of events tomorrow, Prolo will compete in the 200-yard breaststroke to wrap up his successful weekend of performances.
The divers competed in the 3-meter event in Friday morning's prelims. Strauss recorded his best finish of the championships to this point, coming in 29th place out of the 52-man field, posting a 341.15. In tomorrow's events, Strauss will compete in the platform dive to close out his weekend of competition as well.
