BYU divers set for Wildcat Diving Invite

PROVO, Utah – The BYU men’s and women’s dive teams head south this weekend to compete in the Wildcat Diving Invite Nov. 21-22. The University of Arizona will host the event at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in Tucson, Arizona.

"There are a lot of great teams at this event," BYU diving head coach Keith Russell said. "There are a couple of Pac-12 teams and some other good schools so this is great to get us ready for our conference meets."

The Cougars will compete against eight schools including Arizona, NAU, Boise State, Cal, New Mexico, Idaho, UNLV and New Mexico State.

Mackenzie Rands is coming off a win against UC Davis in the 3-meter with a score of 294.00. Megan Johnson Harris finished third in the 3-meter scoring a 263.55. Haley Francois Quinn will also be competing.

For the men, Kevin Dreesen is coming off a win in the 1-meter (344.10) and 3-meter (320.93) against UNLV. Nathan Gonzales finished second in the 1-meter against the Rebels with a 283.13, and Jordan Tuckfield finished third in the 1-meter scoring a 266.25. Matt Hopper will also make the trip.
