PROVO, Utah – Junior Hayden Palmer was named MPSF/TURBO Athlete of the Week Wednesday for the second time this season for his record-breaking performance in the Texas Invitational.

The junior from Moreno Valley, Calif., placed second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:45.38, beating the all-time BYU record he set himself earlier in the year (3:47.54). This performance places him in the NCAA ‘B’ cuts and eighth in the country. Palmer also swam a 1:46.96 in the 200 IM to earn another NCAA ‘B’ cut.

He received his first weekly MPSF award this season on Oct. 30 for his performance against Colorado Mesa and for breaking the BYU pool record for the 400 IM (3:57.91).

Palmer now travels with the team to Puerto Rico where they will train for the rest of the 2013-2014 season with a road meet against Denver and New Mexico in Colorado.
