Zac Blair tied for 15th
EL PASO, Texas – Senior Zac Blair shot a first-round 66 (-5) and second-round 73 (+2) to finish the first day of the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic tied for 15th place.
Competing against some of the nation’s best collegiate golfers, Blair got off to a hot start birdying four of his first six holes. He finished with seven birdies in the first round to tie for second place entering round two.
During the second round Blair converted two birdies on the front nine, before struggling on the back nine with two bogeys and one double bogey. Blair finished with a 36-hole-total 139 (-3) heading into tomorrow’s final round.
Kevin Penner of UNLV and Cory Whitsett of Alabama both stand tied for first place after shooting rounds of 65 and 66 to finish at 11-under-par. Blair is currently eight strokes back of first place and five strokes behind third place.
