PROVO -- The BYU men’s golf team was awarded Golf Coaches Association of America (GCCA) All-Academic Team honors Monday, joining universities from across the country, including two other MWC schools.

BYU was one of 113 teams that submitted GPA’s of 3.0 or higher and received national recognition. MWC opponents New Mexico and Wyoming joined the Cougars in receiving all-academic honors.

The latest in academic awards from the GCCA adds to previous accolades for alumni Robbie Fillmore and Brady Johnson, who were named Division I All-America scholars by the GCCA.

Big East Conference member DePaul was named Division I Academic National Champions, posting a team GPA of 3.66.

In order to be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official roster for the academic year.
