Five Earn MWC All-Academic Honors

PROVO -- Five Cougar golfers were named Tuesday to the Spring 2010 Academic All-Mountain West Conference team, including multiple repeat selections.

Senior Robbie Fillmore, who finished 2010 with an 18th-place finish at the NCAA Championships and received All-America honorable mention honors, earned his fourth consecutive Academic All-Conference award. Fellow senior Brady Johnson, who tied for 14th at the MWC Championships, earned his third-consecutive award.

Freshman Zac Blair and junior Esteban Calisto each received their first Academic All-Conference awards as Cougars, while sophomore Jordan Rodgers earned his second award in as many years.

BYU led the conference, accounting for 149 of the 760 MWC student athletes presented with Academic All-Conference honors.

To be eligible for selection, the student-athletes must have finished at least one academic term at BYU, while also maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or contributing member of their team.
