BYU in eighth place after second round at Red River Classic
Facing a very difficult field, BYU is in eighth place after shooting a 13-under par through the second round at the Red River Classic in Dallas, Texas.
South Carolina leads the field after shooting a sizzling 32-under-par. The Gamecocks are followed by Oklahoma State (-28) and Houston (-25).
Senior All-American Andy Miller led BYU at 4-under-par followed by Junior Billy Harvey at 3-under-par. After dominating the Tucker Intercollegiate Tournament last week in a field with several ranked teams, BYU has found itself in the middle of the pack of 15 teams.
"This tournament just shows you the depth of college golf these days," said BYU Head Coach Bruce Brockbank. "There are a lot of good teams out there.
The final round of play resumes Tuesday, October 13th at the Dallas Athletic Club.
"We didn't shoot particularly well today," Brockbank said. "We've got to put our golf bags Tomorrow and go out and prove that we can shoot a good low score. We've got our work cut out for us."
