NORMAN, Okla. – BYU’s Carson Lundell was named to the 2021 Division I PING All-Region Team by The Golf Coaches Association of America.

Lundell was one of 10 men’s golfers from the West Coast Conference featured on the West Region Team. The GCAA recognized collegiate golfers from each of the six regions — Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West. BYU’s Peter Kuest and Rhett Rasmussen received the same All-Region honor in 2020.

During the spring of 2021, Lundell led the Cougars to a team win at the Nick Watney Invitational on Feb. 8-9 and four other top-five finishes. Individually, he collected first-place honors at the Watney Invitational, the Western Intercollegiate on April 12-14 and the PING Cougar Classic on April 23-24.

The junior from Alpine, Utah carded five-straight rounds in the 60s during the month of April before leading BYU to a second-place finish at the WCC Championship on May 1, behind eventual NCAA Champion Pepperdine.

To cap off a successful junior season, Lundell was named All-WCC First Team and was selected to represent BYU as an individual at the NCAA Cle Elum, Washington Regional on May 17-19.
