PROVO, Utah – The BYU men's golf team will travel to California again for the La Purisima College Invite next week for its second tournament of the fall.

"We are always looking forward to playing again after a frustrating tournament," BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "I'd like to see our team shoot some consistent scores so we can build some confidence."

The five teams from the West Coast Conference will compete again Monday and Tuesday at the La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc, California. BYU, Pepperdine, Saint Mary's, San Diego and Loyola Marymount are scheduled to participate again. The teams met last week in Monterey with Pepperdine coming away with the win.

"La Purisima is a very challenging championship course," Brockbank said. "You need to have patience and hope your short game is solid. We have some new faces in the lineup so it will be interesting to see who will step up."

Carson Lundell and David Timmins were the Cougars' top finishers in the Pasadera College Invite last week with 14th and 17th place finishes, respectively.

The tournament begins Monday, Oct. 19 with 36 holes, followed by a final 18 holes on Tuesday. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com
