BYU looks to make a move on day two at Pasadera Collegiate Invite

MONTEREY, Calif. – The BYU men's golf team shot a combined 563 (+3) in the first two rounds of the Pasadera Collegiate Invite on Monday at The Club at Pasadera.

"From top to bottom it wasn't our best golf today," head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "We hope to improve our par 3 scoring tomorrow and that will help us improve a bunch and make a move." 

Pepperdine leads the field of West Coast Conference schools with a combined 529 (-31). Loyola Marymount is tied for second with a 545 (-15) along with Saint Mary's 545 (-15). In fourth is San Diego 550 (-10) and BYU 563 (+3) rounds out the leaderboard on day one. 

Carson Lundell leads the way for the Cougars after shooting a 67 (-3) in the first round and an even-par 70 in round two to sit in a tie for 13th overall. 

Brock Stanger is tied for 22nd with a 69 (-1) and 72 (+2) while newcomer David Timmins is tied for 25th after a first-round 70 (E) and a 72 (+2) in the second round. 

Cole Ponich (70, 75) and Kelton Hirsch (74, 73) are in 32nd and 33rd, respectively.

Austin Banz, competing as an individual, is tied for 34th overall with a 76 (+6) and 72 (+2) in the first two rounds.
