FORT WORTH, Texas — BYU men’s golfer Peter Kuest was named to the 2020 Ben Hogan Award watch list on Wednesday according to a joint announcement made by the Hogan Trophy Award Foundation, the Friends of Golf (FOG) and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Kuest, who was also on the 2019 watch list, has won three tournaments so far this season and has posted a 69.44 scoring average. The 2018-19 West Coast Conference Player of the Year was also named co-winner of the Ben Hogan Award October Golfer of the Month and the WCC Golfer of the Month for September. Kuest is currently ranked the No. 7 collegiate golfer in the nation according to the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

The Ben Hogan Award is given annually to the top men’s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period from June to May.

This year’s list of 10 semifinalists will be unveiled on Wednesday, April 15. That group will be pared down to three finalists in May, and the finalists will attend a black-tie dinner at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, where the winner will be crowned.
