PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — The No. 6 BYU men’s golf team returns to California next week to compete in the Saint Mary’s Invitational on Nov. 4-6 for its final tournament of the fall season.

The Cougars placed second at Pebble Beach last year behind a first-place individual finish from Peter Kuest. Kuest set a course record after shooting a career-low 61 (-10) in the first round of last season’s tournament and tied the 54-hole course record with a total score of 200 (-13). Rhett Rasmussen also placed in the top-10 at last season’s invitational, finishing tied for ninth.

BYU looks to add to its impressive start to the season after posting four top-two finishes in as many tournaments thus far. The Cougars most recently placed second at the Pacific Invitational, finishing just three strokes behind first-place San Jose State.

Fifteen other teams will compete alongside BYU at the Saint Mary’s Invitational, including WCC foes Pacific, San Francisco, Santa Clara and tournament-host Saint Mary’s. In-state rival Utah will also participate in the event.

The team will play 54 holes over three days on the par-71 7,002-yard Poppy Hills Golf Course. Live stats and the leaderboard will be available at GolfStat.com.
