VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. — BYU men’s golf looks to continue its early-season success next week at the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate at Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Oct. 7-8.

Peter Kuest and Carson Lundell both recorded top-20 finishes at last year’s tournament, placing third and tying for 11th, respectively. As a team the Cougars finished fourth overall after shooting an 839 (-1) through three rounds.

BYU has gotten off to a quick start this season, placing second and first in its first two tournaments of the 2019-20 campaign. The Cougars look to carry their momentum into Alabama next week and add another top finish to the year.

Kuest recorded first-place finishes in each of the team’s first two tournaments this season. He won the outright individual title at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate after shooting a tournament-record 200 (-16), then tied for first place at the Nick Watney Invitational. Fellow senior Rhett Rasmussen finished in the top 10 at both tournaments as well, placing eighth at the Tucker Intercollegiate and third at the Watney Invitational.

BYU will play the first two rounds of the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate on Monday, Oct. 7, followed by a final round on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Live stats and the leaderboard will be available at GolfStat.com.
