FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — BYU men’s golf completed the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at Blessings Golf Club. The Cougars shot 307 as a team and are in 30th place with a two-day total of 629. Defending national champion Oklahoma State (566) is in first place, followed by Stanford (578) in second and Texas A&M (583) in third.

“Brock Stanger played very well today, but we have to have our best players show up,” BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. “We have to be more responsible for missed shots and make better decisions when playing from behind.”

Stanger shot a 74 (+2) in the second round to lead BYU and finish the day ranked in 111th place individually. Peter Kuest and Kelton Hirsch both fired a 77 (+5) on day two to put them in 96th and 128th place, respectively. Rhett Rasmussen is in 142nd place with a 79 (+7) in round two and Carson Lundell shot an 80 (+8) to put him in 146th.

Fellow West Coast Conference foe Pepperdine is currently in 17th place at 603. The Cougars now await the results of the final round on Sunday, having already played their third round before the rest of the field on Thursday. Final results can be found on Golfstat.
