BYU slides to third with one round left at WCC Championship
STOCKTON, Calif. – Peter Kuest remained tied for second place as BYU men's golf slid from second to third place after two rounds at the WCC Championship Friday.
"Peter (Kuest) played solid golf and is in great shape to win," BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "It was a difficult day as a team. We need our best round of the year tomorrow."
Kuest's overall score of six-under trailed only Pepperdine's Joshua McCarthy's eight-under. Brock Stanger and Carson Lundell sit tied for 15th with a score of one-over. Rhett Rasmussen and Kelton Hirsch, both at three-over, are tied for 24th.
After a 278 in the first round (10-under), the Cougars carded a 295 (seven-over) in the second round. San Francisco remained the leader with a score of 11-under. Pepperdine jumped BYU with its nine-under.
