Cougars move up 10 spots at The Goodwin

STANFORD, Calif. – Three BYU golfers shot even-par as the Cougars moved up 10 spots in the second round of The Goodwin at Stanford Golf Course.

"It was a nice round from all five guys today," BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "Peter (Kuest) has another shot at an individual win and rounds of 70 by (Brock) Stanger and (Carson) Lundell were great for the team."

Peter Kuest, Carson Lundell and Brock Stanger each posted a score of 70 on Friday. Rhett Rasmussen and Kelton Hirsch both scored a two-over 72.

Kuest finished the day at two-under overall to sit tied for third place heading into the final round. Rasmussen got to six-over for the tournament. Hirsch and Lundell wound up at seven-over and eight-over, while Stanger stayed at 10-over.

BYU's 282 team score came after a 295 on Thursday. The Cougars 17-over had them tied for seventh. The host, Stanford, led with a team score of two-under.

West Coast Conference teams San Francisco and Santa Clara were tied for 12th at 20-over. Pepperdine, Saint Mary's and San Diego wound up at 23-over, 29-over and 52-over.
