BYU in third heading into final round at Olympic Club

SAN FRANCISCO – Top-10 finishes through two rounds from Peter Kuest and Rhett Rasmussen have BYU men's golf in third place at the Olympic Club Intercollegiate.

"Peter and Rhett played great to keep us in the hunt," BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "We hope to make a run at the leaders tomorrow."

Kuest shot a five-under 66 in the second round and posted an overall score of four-under on the day to wind up tied for second. Rasmussen's two-under overall placed him tied for sixth.

Kelton Hirsch (+4) and Carson Lundell (+6) rounded out BYU's top four. Chad Hardy came in at 11-over.

Fellow West Coast Conference teams Santa Clara and San Francisco and Loyola Marymount finished Monday in fourth and sixth, respectively. Loyola Marymount and Pacific wound up in eighth and ninth.
