Lundell's three-under leads BYU in first day of Arizona Invitational
TUCSON, Ariz. – BYU men's golf shot one-under to get into 10th place in the first two rounds of the Arizona Invitational Monday at Sewailo Golf Club.
"It was a really good day for low scores at Sewailo," BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "It just seemed like we could never get going. We need to find a way to have a big day tomorrow if we want to finish strong."
Carson Lundell paced the Cougars with a three-under 139 over the 36 holes. His two birdies and no bogeys over the last nine holes tied him for the 17th best score on day one.
Rhett Rasmussen finished even (142) after a one-under second round. Peter Kuest and Kelton Hirsch both shot one-over (143), and Chad Hardy rounded out BYU's five with a nine-over 151.
Play will conclude tomorrow with the final 18-hole round. Golfstat.com will provide live results and the leaderboard.
