Cougars head back to California for Alister MacKenzie Invitational
PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s golf continues its fall season as it competes in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational Oct. 10-11 in Fairfax, Calif. at the Meadow Club.
The 15-team playing field includes Arizona State, Cal, Fresno State, Loyola-Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Saint Mary’s, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State and Washington. BYU finished the tournament in 11th place last year as Cal took first place for the seventh year in a row.
BYU enters the invite coming off a first-place finish out of 15 teams at the Nick Watney Invitational in Fresno, Calif. The Cougars shot 1-over-par to clinch the title, beating out fellow West Coast Conference opponents Saint Mary’s, Loyola Marymount and Pacific.
The Meadow Club is a par 71, 6,734 yards. The teams will play 36 holes the first day and 18 the next for a total of 54 holes.
