Men to participate in the Southwestern Jones Invitational

PROVO, Utah — BYU men’s golf will participate in its third tournament of the spring this coming Monday and Tuesday as the team will compete in the Southwestern Jones Invitational.

West Coast Conference foe, Pepperdine, will host the tournament. The event will be held at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. Teams will play 54 holes of the par-72 6,992-yard course.

Along with the Cougars and the Waves, San Diego will also represent the WCC. The field will consist of 15 teams. In addition to the WCC teams participating, the field of teams includes Augusta, Boise State, Fresno State, Iowa, Lipscomb, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Oregon, Sam Houston State, San Diego State, USC and Winthrop.

The Cougars placed sixth place in the Arizona Intercollegiate, their first tournament of the spring, with Patrick Fishburn finishing in the top-10 individually. Last week, Fishburn finished at four-over-par through 54 holes.

Teams will start the tournament Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PST. The event can be followed live.
