BYU to host the PING Cougar Classic

PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s golf will host the PING Cougar Classic this Friday and Saturday, April 24-25, at the Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah.

The tournament will span two days, with 36 holes played on the first day and the last 18 played on the second day. The event will tee-off on Friday at 8 a.m. MDT and on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. MDT.

The field is made up of 11 teams, including Pacific, who is in the West Coast Conference with BYU. Local teams Southern Utah, UVU and Utah State will also be participating. The rest of the field, including the Aggies, are from the  Mountain West Conference teams: Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, and Wyoming.

The Cougars last hosted this event in 2013. Former player standout and current PGA golfer  Zac Blair, won the individual title and lead the team to win the tournament crown.

BYU is fresh off of its fifth-place finish at the West Coast Conference Championships. Senior Cole Ogden led the team shooting 15-over-par and finishing in 15th place.

The Cougars will tee-off at 8 a.m. MDT at the Riverside Country Club. The event is free and open to the public. Live stats will be available on the BYU men’s golf schedule page.
