KAUA‘I, Hawai'i - Justin Keiley and Joe Parkinson combined to go nine-under-par in the second round to lead the BYU men's golf team to a second-place standing at the John Burns Intercollegiate on Thursday.

"The guys played really well again," BYU men's golf coach Bruce Brockbank said. "Justin and Joe started great and got going with birdies. We're right in contention. We get to play with the top teams and hopefully we can play through the tough holes tomorrow. We're looking forward to it."

The Cougars finished six-under-par for the day, seven-under for the tournament, to trail No. 4-ranked California by nine strokes entering Friday's final round. BYU is tied with No. 12 Texas A&M in second place, while No. 21 New Mexico is eight strokes off the Cougars' pace in fourth overall at one-over-par.

Keiley leads the tournament individually at 10-under-par with a season-best, six-under-par 66 in the second round. He takes a four-stroke lead ahead of California's Joel Stalter  into the final round after finishing with eight birdies on the day.
