Hammer receives WCC All-Academic honors for second year
PROVO, Utah – Jordan Hammer was named to the 2012-13 West Coast Conference Men’s Golf All-Academic Team, the league announced Friday.
Hammer, a junior studying General Business, claimed honors for the second straight year earning a 3.41 cumulative grade point average. He qualified for the distinction by maintaining a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA, while also participating in at least 50 percent of the team’s tournaments.
With two top-20 finishes on the season, Hammer’s contributions have helped BYU to a strong spring season. His best finish on the year came at the North Ranch Intercollegiate, where he shot a three-over 216 to tie for fourth place on the individual leaderboard.
The BYU men’s golf team will compete in the West Coast Conference Golf Championships April 15-17 in Bremerton, Wash. Follow the three-day tournament live on golfstat.com.
