Jensen, Young, and Clayton named WCC All-Academic

PROVO, Utah—The 2016 West Coast Conference All-Academic teams were released earlier this week, featuring three BYU cross country athletes.

Sophomore Alice Jensen and junior Laura Young were both named on the women’s All-Academic team. Sophomore Clayton Young was also named on the men’s All-Academic team.

Each WCC All-Academic team is made up of 10 athletes from teams representing the WCC. To be considered for an All-Academic team, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA while being a significant contributor to his or her respective team. The athlete must also participate in at least 50 percent of all races and be at least a sophomore in academic eligibility.

Honorable mentions on the women’s team included Erica Birk-Jarvis, Ashleigh Warner, and Kelsey Braithwaite. On the men’s side Mitchell Briggs, Daniel Carney, and Erik Harris also received honorable mentions.
