PROVO -- In their second meet in four days, the BYU gymnastics team defeated Southern Utah University, 196.225 to 194.150 in Cedar City on Monday night. The Cougars scored above a 196 in their second straight meet. Kelly Parkinson scored her season best on the all-around with a 39.550.

After scoring a season high, 196.025, against Utah on Saturday, the Cougars scored another season high. BYU, No. 15 in the nation, scored high on vault and floor with a 49.100 and a 49.325 respectively. Southern Utah scored a 49.175 on the floor.

After a season low of 39.150 on Friday, Parkinson bounced back with her strongest performance of the year. Parkinson scored a 9.925 on the vault and floor excercise. Southern Utah's Heather Black scored a 38.900 in the all-around for their meet high.

Besides Parkinosn, BYU's Angie Hickman scored a 9.900 on the vault, Kari Dye scored a 9.875 on the beam, and Brooke Craig and Candace Cosgrave both scored a 9.875 on the floor excercise.

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday night in the Marriott Center. They will take on the University of Missouri at 7 p.m.
