GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Fifteen first place wins on the first day of the Intermountain Shootout gave BYU momentum going into the second day of competition.

“Both of our teams swam great today,” BYU head coach John Brooks said. “There were a lot of highlights and the upperclassmen did a great job of setting the tone for the freshmen. We are looking forward to tomorrow.”

The women started off the evening with the first win of the two-day invitational. A team of Brynn Sproul, Lily Plaudis, Tiare Coker and Gwen Gustafson secured a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.16.
