PROVO, Utah – The BYU swimmers will suit up for the annual Pacific Invite this weekend in Stockton, Calif. on Oct.14-15.

Last year, both the men and women’s teams took first place at the Pacific Invite. The women scored 1228 points and the men scored 846.5 points for the win.

“I really like going to this invite because the format of the meet is set up so that the teams are swimming all day,” BYU head coach Tim Powers said. “We will also be swimming in an outdoor pool in about 80 degree weather at sea level, so it’s a good change up. “

Last weekend, the swimmers started the new season with the annual blue and white alumni meet.

“We’re excited to see how our new swimmers perform on the road, but so far we’ve liked how the team is swimming,” said Powers.  “We’re looking forward to competing against the teams that attend. Our training has been going well, but the best kind of training is actual competition and we look forward to swimming against the teams that will be there this weekend.”
