McBratney named MPSF Female Athlete of the Week

PROVO, Utah (Nov. 10, 2020) — BYU sophomore Katie McBratney was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Female Athlete of the Week today for her efforts in leading women's swimming to a season-opening victory over Dixie State on Nov. 7.

McBratney recorded a meet-high three individual titles, including breaking the BYU Richards Pool record in the 200 IM (2:02.98). Her other wins came in the 200 breast (2:16.18) and 200 free (1:51.45). McBratney also swam on the first-place 200 medley relay team (1:41.53). 

McBratney, from Queen Creek, Arizona, was the 2019-20 MPSF Freshman of the Year and was named first-team MPSF 100 IM, 400 IM, 200M breast. This is the third career MPSF Female Athlete of the Week award for McBratney.
