PROVO, Utah – BYU sophomore Katie McBratney broke the Richards Building Pool record in the 200-yard individual medley in the Cougars' meet against Dixie State on Friday afternoon.

The BYU women competed against Dixie State while the men’s team swam on their own after Colorado Mesa was forced to pull out late due to team coronavirus issues.

“We had really good spirits on both the men’s and women’s teams,” BYU head coach John Brooks said. “We are really grateful for Dixie State for coming and we missed Colorado Mesa. We had some really big swims today and people are living in the moment right now.”
