Natalie Bennion participates in Speedo Championship Series
PROVO, Utah– Natalie Bennion has qualified to compete in the Western Region Four Corners Speedo Championship Series, which will begin Thursday, Mar. 15 in Lewisville, Texas and will go through Sunday, Mar. 19.
“I am proud of Natalie and her dedication to strive to improve and represent BYU at this meet,” head BYU swim coach John Brooks said.
Bennion is the only swimmer from BYU who will be participating in this meet at the Westside Aquatic Center, although sophomore Nathan Rogers will be participating in the 2017 Arena Pro Swim Series in Mesa, Arizona from April 13-15.
Bennion recently participated at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swim and Dive Championships in February and set a new personal record of 51.26 in the 100 freestyle. She looks to continue improving her times this week in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle races and the 100 butterfly.
Each day, preliminaries will begin at 9 a.m. CST and the finals will commence at 5:30 p.m. Listed below are the events that Bennion will participate in throughout the week.
Events:
Thursday- 100 free
Friday- 200 free
Saturday- 100 butterfly
Sunday- 50 free
Bennion will complete on a different day in the 50 free timed trial before the arranged meet time on Sunday. A recap story will be posted Saturday evening on the BYU swim and dive homepage.
