PROVO, Utah– For the first time this season, BYU women’s swim and dive team competes outdoors in a dual at UC Davis on Friday Oct. 28 at 4:00 p.m. PT.

“The last two years we have had very competitive meets with UC Davis,” head BYU swim coach John Brooks said. “They have brought out the best in the women’s team and I expect a close meet!

"It is outdoors, so weather can play a role in the swimming meet. It if it cold, that can play an even bigger role (anticipated 65 degrees)."

This meet will be similar to the dual against Oregon State, where there will be 14 swimming events. However, UC Davis does field a diving team, so there will be two diving events.

UC Davis, like BYU, is a part of the Mountain Pacific Sports Administration and their women’s team was the 2016 MPSF Champion. This will be the first and only meeting for BYU against an MPSF foe until the league championships that will be held in February. The Cougars are looking forward to Friday and challenging the standing champions.
