PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s and women’s swimming and diving visit Salt Lake City this weekend to take on Utah in the Deseret First Duel Sat. at 11 a.m. MST in the Ute Natatorium.

“Utah is so good,” BYU head coach John Brooks said. “It will be a dogfight for us, our guys have a good chance of going up there and hopefully getting a win. No matter what, it’s a chance to race and compete and that’s always huge.”

A total of six Deseret First Duel points are up for grabs in the meet, three for the men and three for the women. Utah currently holds an 11-6 overall advantage in the Deseret First Duel.

The Utah men come into the meet ranked No. 25 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America’s top 25. The Ute men are 8-0 overall and 2-0 in Pac-12 competition, while the women are just 3-6 and 0-2 against the Pac-12.

Both the BYU men’s and women’s swim and dive teams will be looking to snap two-meet losing streaks to the Utes when they square off in Salt Lake City.
