Owens and Payne receive academic honor
PROVO, Utah - Senior Carlee Payne Holmoe and junior Erica Owens have been named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team.
The nomination is the second straight for Holmoe with her earning third team honors last season. Holmoe is a Public Health major with a current 3.50 cumulative GPA. She led the Cougars with nine assists this year while also contributing seven goals and 37 shots. Holmoe finished the season ranked 34th in the NCAA for her total assists.
Owens is an Exercise and Wellness major with a current 3.67 cumulative GPA. She spent over 2,000 minutes in front of the net as BYU's starting goalkeeper while making 77 saves and tallying 12 shutouts this season. Owens finished the year ranked 5th in the NCAA for her goals-against average and 27th for her save percentage.
