Rockwood named Regional Coach of the Year
PROVO, Utah - BYU women's soccer head coach Jennifer Rockwood has been named the NSCAA West Regional Head Coach of the Year.
Rockwood led the Cougars to a 20-2-2 record this year for its most successful overall season in program history. BYU made its first run back to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight since the 2003 campaign and won its first outright West Coast Conference title while achieving its highest ranking ever, a No. 2 national ranking in the final regular season poll.
The 2012-13 squad produced two NSCAA All-Americans, five NCAA All-Region winners and one Hermann Trophy Finalist.
Rockwood has accumulated an overall 293-84-31 record to make her the No. 6 winningest active head coach in the NCAA Division I. In her 18-year tenure, Rockwood has guided the Cougars to eight conference titles and 14 appearances in the postseason NCAA tournament.
