PROVO, Utah - Following a successful week for the No. 5 BYU women’s soccer team, two members of the team have been recognized nationally for their efforts.
From CollegeSoccer360.com, senior defender Dana Oldroyd Cusick has been named to the CS360.com Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll. Cusick is part of a BYU defense that has been outstanding all season. Last week against Portland, Cusick took the ball the length of the field for a shot that was batted down by the Pilot goalkeeper but allowed teammate Jessica Ringwood to follow up on the rebound and get the first goal of the night. The Cougars defeated Portland 2-1.
Junior Kyleigh Royall has been named the Madness West Coast Conference Player of the Week from CollegeSportsMadness.com. Royall netted two goals against WCC opponent San Francisco to give the Cougars the 3-1 victory.
BYU plays one game this week at home on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. MT against Gonzaga.
