Cutshall named Finalist for Senior CLASS
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The 30 candidates for this year's Senior CLASS Award have been narrowed down to 10 finalists with BYU women's soccer senior Lindsi Lisonbee Cutshall included as a 2012 Finalist.
Fans can begin voting online now for Lindsi at the seniorclassaward.com site.
Lisonbee anchors a nationally-recognized BYU defense that has allowed eight goals this season and is holding its opponents to an average of just 7.9 shots per game. The Park City, Utah, native has recorded two goals this season, one of which was featured on ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10, two assists and 19 shots.
BYU's defense has held nine of its opponents this season to single-shot performances and the most corner kicks allowed against them is seven from No. 6 Penn State on Sept. 8.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. The finalists were chosen by a media committee from the list of 30 women’s candidates announced in September.
Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner. Fans are encouraged to vote on the Senior CLASS Award website through November 19. Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches’ votes to determine the winner.
The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2012 NCAA Women's College Cup championships between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2.
