EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 12/7 BYU women's soccer team recorded its sixth shutout and eighth-straight win on the road over the University of Oregon, 1-0, on Monday.

Jessica Ringwood and Carlee Payne Holmoe led the BYU squad with two shots apiece to contribute to 10 total shots. This is the 10th-straight game BYU has taken double-digit shots.

BYU got things started early, scoring after just six minutes of play on a goal from senior Carlee Payne Holmoe. A pass from midfielder Cloee Colohan to Jaiden Thornock, who crossed it into the box, set up the goal.

With 10 minutes left until halftime, after controlling most of the offense after BYU's goal, Oregon got its first good look at the goal with a shot just outside the box. Goalkeeper Erica Owens was right there to snatch it and prevent the equalizer.

Back from the half, the Ducks went on the attack right away, but the Cougar backline thwarted all attempts to find the back of the net and BYU goalkeeper Owens came up with one great save after another.

The teams traded chances to score as the minutes on the clock ran out and BYU kept the shutout.

Up next for the Cougars is a game at home on Thursday, Sept. 27, against Utah Valley University at 7 p.m. MDT.
