LOGAN, Utah - The No. 12/7 BYU women's soccer team defeated Utah State 1-0 on the road Thursday and are now a perfect 10-0 all-time against the Aggies.

Senior defender Dana Oldroyd Cusick netted her second goal of the season to get the Cougars (9-1-0) the victory. Cusick dribbled the ball up field and sent a rocket past the Aggie goalkeeper from about 30 yards out.

After Cusick's goal in the ninth minute, the Cougars remained in control of the ball but couldn't quite find the back of the net. BYU took eight shots to Utah State's two in the first half.

Back from halftime, both teams were aggressive on offense and both teams tooks five shots in the second 45 minutes, but neither team could score.

With less than 10 minutes to play, BYU's Jessica Ringwood took a free kick just outside the box and almost got another goal for the Cougars. The ball hit the crossbar and bounced down right in front of Utah State's goalkeeper where it was picked up.

BYU goalkeeper Erica Owens made two saves in the game.

The Cougars have now won seven-straight games and recorded double-digit shots in their last nine.

Up next for BYU is a game at the University of Oregon on Monday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. PDT. The game will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network.
