Cougars top Colorado College at home
PROVO, Utah -- Led by a dynamic offensive attack, the BYU women’s soccer team remains undefeated at home after a 2-0 victory over Colorado College, Saturday.
“We played great team defense,” head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. “Anytime you can hold someone to zero goals, it is a success. When you do that, you take the other team out of their rhythm.”
The Cougars (4-1) took command of the game early with Jessica Ringwood scoring on a centering cross by Carlee Payne Holmoe in the 16th minute of the game. The goal was the first of the season for Ringwood.
“I was happy with the way we held our composure in the first 15 to 20 minutes of the game,” Rockwood said. “That allowed us to net that early goal and we were able to keep the momentum throughout the game.”
