NORMAN, Okla. - Battling heat and humidity, the BYU women's soccer fell 0-2 to the University of Oklahoma on the road, Saturday.

The Sooners scored both of their goals early in the game, leaving the Cougars to play catch up. With the loss, BYU went 0-2 on its road trip against two very talented teams. The Cougars haven't lost two games in a row since the 2008 season when they lost three in a row.

Amy Petrikin and Michelle Alexander scored in the 16th and 20th minute, respectively, for the Sooners to take the early lead while the Cougars struggled to get shots off in the first half. BYU only took one shot in the frist half as they headed into the locker room down by two goals and knowing they needed to pick up the pace in the second half.

The Cougars did come out strong in the second half, out-shooting the Sooners 6-4 but just couldn't find the back of the net. Carlee Payne led BYU on two shots with teammates Lindsi Lisonbee, Jessica Ringwood, Jaiden Thornock, Auna Doria and Megan Fereday each contributing a shot as well.

A return home is up next for the Cougars with two games next week on South Field, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 20, against the University of Idaho at 7 p.m. MT on BYUtv.
