Cougars Finish Spring With More Wins
PROVO, Utah -- The BYU women's soccer team finished its 2011 spring season last weekend in their annual Spring Outdoor Tournament with two shutout victories over Utah and Utah Valley University on Saturday, April 9.
Game one against the Utes was won off a lone goal from Lauren Anderson in the first half with an assist from Jennie Marshall. The goal is Anderson's seventh of the spring season.
For game two against UVU, because of weather conditions, the teams were moved indoors and, again, a single goal was the deciding factor. In the second half, transfer Collette Jepson netted an unassisted game-winner for the team's second victory of the day and 10th shutout of the spring campaign.
The Cougars finished the spring season with a 10-0-1 record while giving up just one goal against Arizona State.
