Soccer Celebrates The Holidays
PROVO -- To close the season and celebrate the Christmas holiday, the BYU women's soccer team got together for a team awards banquet.
The members of the team voted to give each other different awards for their teammate's performances throughout the season.
As voted by their teammates, Lindsi Lisonbee and McKinzie Olson were voted Defensive Co-MVPs. Both Lisonbee and Olson started and played every game for BYU in 2010, helping them advance to their 13th all-time post-season appearance in the NCAA Women's College Cup. BYU's defense only allowed 12 goals from opponents all season.
Carlee Payne and Jennie Marshall were voted Offensive Co-MVPs for their outstanding attack in the upper third. The duo combined for 13 goals and 90 shots on the season.
Other awards such as the Fitness Award and Hustle Award were also given. A complete list of team awards is given below.
The Cougars claimed the 2010 Mountain West Conference Championship Title to earn them a trip to the NCAA Women's College Cup with a 16-3-3 overall record to finish out the season.
