Lisonbee and Payne Honored
PROVO, Utah -- BYU women's soccer stars Lindsi Lisonbee and Carlee Payne were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and TopDrawerSoccer.com for their performances during the 2010 season.
The NSCAA announced this season's Division I All-America Team with Lisonbee honored as a member of the All-America Second Team after her outstanding season as a defender for the Cougars. Lisonbee is the only player from the Mountain West Conference to be named an All-American.
TopDrawerSoccer.com also released their post-season Team of the Season with BYU's Payne receiving a First Team Honorable Mention award.
Lisonbee started and played every game for BYU in 2010, helping them advance to their 13th all-time post-season appearance in the NCAA Women's College Cup. She anchored a BYU defense that only allowed 12 goals all season while recording a season-high five goals herself.
Payne played a substantial role in BYU's offensive explosion this season with six goals, a team-high seven assists and 44 shots while starting and playing in every game for BYU. The 2010 Cougars put up a total of 40 goals on the season compared to last year's 38-goal total.
The Cougars claimed the 2010 Mountain West Conference Championship Title to earn them a trip to the NCAA Women's College Cup with a 16-3-3 overall record.
