Fans Can Vote for Larkin as WPS All-Star

PROVO -- Former Cougar standout Katie Larkin is up for nomination as an All-Star in the Women's Professional Soccer league and fans can vote online here to see that she makes it.

The 2010 WPS All-Star game will be played on Wednesday, June 30, in Atlanta. A pool of 36 players will be selected in early June with 22 starters chosen through voting by teams, players, media and fans. Voting ends Friday, June 4, so go online and vote today.

Larkin was originally drafted in 2009 by the Los Angelos Sol where she started five games. She was later chosen to play with the Under-23 National Team where she competed for over a year in Spain, Germany and England.

With the WPS Expansion Draft earlier this year, Larkin was picked 6th overall by the Atlanta Beat. The Beat's season began this year on April 11 with a 0-0 tie in Philadelphia. Larkin has started in the last three of the team's six games this year and played in four of them.

At BYU, Larkin competed in 86 games in her four years. She netted 37 goals, the fourth highest in BYU soccer history, and recorded 270 shots, also the fourth highest in BYU soccer history. Larkin was a two-time All-American for BYU and a two-time Hermann Trophy Candidate.
