LAS VEGAS -- With the spring season about midway through, the BYU women's soccer team continued action with two games in Las Vegas on Saturday and came away with two shutout victories.

The Cougars met conference opponent UNLV in game one with a 2-0 outcome favoring BYU. Jessica Ringwood scored goal one for the Cougars, off an assist from Mercede Koning, to give them an early lead. Goal two came from Carlee Payne off an assist from teammate Jennie Marshall.

The Rebels finished their season with an unfortunate 0-2 loss to New Mexico, keeping them from the conference tournament. The Cougars beat the Rebels 1-0 in the 2009 regular season on Oct. 10.

Game two featured a matchup against Western Athletic Conference opponent Nevada with another 2-0 outcome to favor the Cougars. Goal one came from midfielder Auna Janis with an assist from Ringwood. Goal two was the same Payne-Marshall combo from game one with Payne scoring off an assist from Marhsall to give the Cougars the win.

Nevada finished their season with a 0-1 loss in the WAC championship game to Boise State.

BYU's spring schedule continues with their final two road games in College Station, Tex., home of the 2010 College Cup, on April 2.
