Four Cougars Named to NSCAA All-Pacific Team

PROVO -- Senior Andrea Willis, Freshman Carlee Payne, Freshman Lindsi Lisonbee and Sophomore McKinzie Olson were chosen from the 2009 BYU squad to be named to the 2009 NCAA Division I All-Pacific Region Teams by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

These four Cougars were chosen out of all Pacific Region conferences to be included with 33 other top athletes. The four players from BYU is the second-highest number of players to be included from one school on the All-Region list.

Willis, a Riverside, Calif. native, was named to the All-Region first team for her defensive efforts this season for the Cougars. BYU's defense only allowed 15 goals all year from opponents. Willis finished the season with two goals and 31 shots.

Payne, a Danville, Calif. native, was named to the All-Region second team. She finished the season as an integral part of the Cougar offense, leading the team with 13 goals and 56 shots.

Olson, a Cottonwood Heights, Utah native, was also named to the All-Region second team as BYU's starting goalie. Olson finished the season after recording 2,238:28 minutes on the field, 63 saves and 12 shutouts.

Lisonbee, a Park City, Utah native, was named to the All-Region third team for her first year as a starting defender for BYU. Lisonbee joined Willis on the defensive line where she finished with one goal of her own and seven shots.

Players from UCLA, Stanford, USC, San Diego State, Washington State, Washington, Oregon State, Utah, California and Arizona State were also named to the first, second or third team.
