Payne Receives Second MWC Player of the Week Honor
PROVO -- Freshman Carlee Payne was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week for the second time, Monday.
Payne, a native of Pleasanton, Calif., assisted on the game-winning goal in BYU’s 2-0 win over TCU. She also added an insurance goal in the 57th minute, marking her 10th goal this season. The freshman has now scored a goal in nine of the Cougars’ 17 games this season.
Payne's last MWC POW nomination came on Sept. 14. Taat same week she was nominated to the National Team of the Week by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
The No. 11 Cougars (13-2-2) will continue their 4-0-1 conference unbeaten streak on the road against Air Force Saturday Oct. 24 at 5 p.m.
