Payne, Club Team advance to Nationals

PROVO -- With a 4-0 victory over the So Cal Blues, future BYU Cougar Carlee Payne’s Pleasanton Rage U-18 Club Soccer Team captured the US Youth Soccer Association Region IV Championship and advanced to the UYSA National Championship series in Lancaster, Mass.

Payne, a forward/midfielder, from Pleasanton Calif. is one of seven new players who will join the Cougars in the fall. She scored five of the Rage’s six goals in their 6-0 win over the Black Diamond (Utah) soccer club.

The national championship series begins with a round robin format on July 22. The finals will be held July 26.

Catch the Cougars in action on the pitch in the annual Blue and White game on Wed. Aug. 12, at 7:00 pm. The game will kickoff at South Field
