Busy Summer Continues for Cougars

PROVO -- Current and future Cougars have been keeping busy this summer, and four players are competing at the Youth Soccer Region IV Championships, held in Lancaster, Calif, the week of June 15-20.

Competing at regionals are incoming freshmen Carlee Payne (Rage Soccer Club), s Lindsi Lisonbee (Black Diamond Soccer Club), and sophomores McKinzie Olson and Auna Janis (Utah Avalanche).

Lisonbee was also named to the Parade Magazine All-America High School Soccer Team as a defender.

Nicole Urry, Stacy Bartholomew, McKinzie Olson, Andrea Willis, and Dana Oldroyd are also playing for the Utah Starzz team of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).

The 2009 BYU women's soccer season starts on Aug. 12 at 7:00 p.m. at South Field with the annual Blue/White game.

Fans can join the official BYU Women’s Soccer Texting group by texting the word “WSOC” to 83043. Members of the group will get updates about game times and special promotions.
