2009 Spring Outdoor Tournament on Saturday

PROVO -- The Mountain West Conference champion BYU women’s soccer team will host the annual 2009 Spring Outdoor Tournament Saturday, April 11 at South Stadium and Haws Field.

Teams participating in the tournament include BYU, the University of Utah, Utah Valley University, Weber State University, Utah State and Dixie State College. A BYU alumni team will also face off against the Cougars. The games will be held throughout the day at South Field and Haws Field.

South Field, home of the Cougars, is located immediately south of the George Albert Smith Fieldhouse on the campus at BYU. Games at South Field are scheduled as follows:

11:00 a.m. Dixie vs. BYU

1:00 p.m. Weber vs. UVU

3:30 p.m. BYU vs. Weber

5:00 p.m. BYU vs. BYU alumni team

Located between the Indoor Practice Facility and University Avenue, Haws Field is the second site for games on Saturday. The following games are scheduled at Haws Field:

10:00 a.m. Utah vs. UVU

2:30 p.m. USU vs. Dixie

6:00 p.m. Dixie vs. Utah

Fans are encouraged to come and attend as many games as possible. Admission will not be charged, but fans are asked to bring gently used soccer cleats, running shoes or formal church-type shoes as a donation. These shoes will be taken to Nicaragua by team members working with the charity, Cause For Hope.
